Knit Mouse & Macro Photography [May. 7th, 2006|02:04 pm]

Here is an adorable mouse I knitted up the other day. So cute! I made a bunch up from scrap yarn and such. I even made one for a girl I work with. She loves it, as well as her cats!

Also... I was messing with my parents digital camera and got some cool macro shots of random things. I wish I still had my camera :( *sniff sniff*

Today was extremely boring. Extremely. Trust me. It's about that time when I crash, or at least try to. We'll see how it goes. I kinda need to stay up until the new Pearl Jam cd I bought, finishes downloading on my laptop. Which could take till tomorrow morning... Ugh! Anyways. I'm beat. I think I'll just let the lil' laptop hang out on the speaker till tomorrow morning, I really don't feel like staying up till then. Errrr... I'll get an Apple, one day. One day I tell you! Who knows, maybe I'll land a new job and earn super big bucks... Maybe?

I've had writers block since.... 1983.¹ So how can I have a writing journal if I can't write? Good question. I don't have an answer.²

(1)Writer was born in June of 1983. (2) Answer: I'm an idiot.

[On my iPod |Fiona Apple-get him back]

While I was shopping errr... working on RPL today, I came across this book. Why is this book so spiffy you ask? Well I'll tell you. It has a short story by Chuck Palahniuk in it called If Death is a Doorway... Why Shouldn't it Have a Door Policy?!!! I nearly died when I saw his name listed on the book. So I bought it, of course. The book also features Augusten Burroughs,Douglas Coupland (cept I can't find where he is in the book?), and J.T. Leroy among others. So go and check it out!!! Now! Why are you still reading this? Go buy it now!

I'm tired, but I don't wanna sleep.

I'm hungry, but I don't wanna eat.

I want to scream at the top of my lungs, but I can't fill my lungs with enough air.

I just don't know where I can get the energy to do the things I want to do. I wanna get my art out there, but I don't know where to begin. I guess I wish I could just snap my fingers and all my work will be hanging in a gallery. Everyone wanting to meet the artist. Drinking wine. Pointing at the paint textures while all the "oohh's" and "Ahhh's" fill the gallery. That would be my dream.

Here's an update on the Branching Out scarf:

Also, I don't think I ever posted this knitted kitty photo yet. I knitted him up a while back, I think I might make a few of these little guys for gifts this year. I'm already trying to plan for X-Mas gifts. It's a little early, but eh.

Lastly, I thought I'd post a progress shot of that knitted cupcake I did not to long ago:

[Mood today | Coming off my spinning high]

I will now enounce you all to Miss Cupcake! Dun-dun-dun...

Also... I spun up the greenish tealy colored Bonker's Fiber. It turned out amazing! I only wish I had bought more, I got just 71yds from the 4oz. :( Well, you know what that means, time to go buy more! I still have the other Anti-Rainbow colored roving to spin up. I might save it for tomorrow to spin.

Why am I so addicted to fiber and knitting? I live and breathe anything to do with wool or knitting needles. I find myself always asking the question," Could I spin this?" while walking around in stores. I'm following around random people at my work to get a closer look at their scarves and sweaters. *sigh* I think I'm truely loosing it. When I'm knitting or spinning, everything just seems to go away and vanish. Ahhhh... So nice. I think I'll go work on that Branching Out scarf, or go surf other knitter's and spinner's blogs. (I do that every day for hours and hours!)

Branching Out Scarf, here I come! [Apr. 8th, 2006|11:45 am]
[Mood today | happy]

I finished the little cupcake last night! It's so cute. I sewed on random pink/red/tan buttons on the top. It's on my window sil at the moment, I still need to take a photo of it. In the meantime, I just got up not to long ago, cleaned the place up a bit, and now I'm ready to wind my Claudia's Hand Painted yarn into balls and begin the Branching Out Scarf. I kinda started one a while back, but I didn't like the yarn I was using... Well, I did like the yarn, I just messed up on a stitch. Ok, I admitted it. lol But, I'm gonna do it again, and do it right this time. Now that I know what I did wrong last time. It said to sl2-k1-p2sso, so instead of slipping the the 2 stitches together, I slipped one at a time. I'm retarded, I know. Soooo... now I know. Here's the yarn I'm going to use for it:

Also I found this Branching Out blog. Check it out!

*Finished the bottom to a knitted cupcake from the book "One Skein" (go buy it now, it's awesome!)

Hmmm I thought there would be more accomplishments to list. Oh well... I'll take pics of the hat and cupcake soon!

How can I forget to mention the two yummy fiber rovings I bought at the Fiber Factory!

Also, I ordered some Claudia's Handpainted sock yarn the other day from Kpixie. It's a little more pink than what I thought, but it's still perfect!

[On my iPod |Get him Back - Fiona Apple]

So I moved out on the 1st (well, the 31st, but not till that evening). I love the apartment, love my room, love everything. My roomate came in late last Friday evening. It's been great so far. I guess it helps to have been friends with your roomate for years and years though. He is still unpacking a bunch, but I have finished. I'm still bringing over little things slowly, but I'm mostly done. I've been hanging around and working on knitting projects here and there. It's nice. Cha Cha is deathly afriad of his cat Mr. Miogi. Awww poor thing. She'll snap out of it eventually. He is the sweetest thing ever! Anyways... here are some pics of the new place. Warning, these photo's were taken before the unboxing. Enjoy!

Project coming soon... [Mar. 29th, 2006|06:28 pm]
[Mood today | evil]

I've been working on an artwork series, I dunno if thats the right words to use, but... sounds ok. For a while I've been trying to do a few paintings as a set... It came to me the other day! Why not combine my love of fiber and knitting w/ my love for art!? Soooo... I'm gonna be working on 3 peices that all kinds go with the theme. I haven't been able to start the project yet. (If you keep up with the blog, you will know I'm in the process of moving) I think the project will be super exciting and really fun. I'll keep you updated on the series....

On another note, I'm fully addicted to the computer game "Black & White". It's disturbingly fun... I say "disturbingly" cause in the game you play a God. You can pick up people and thrust them out off the island or feed them to your pet. It's great fun. Even more fun if you name the people your feeding to your pet, after certain co-workers and watch them get all chewed up. *tee-hee* I won't name any names, but I'm sure Derek, yes you, could think of one person in particular. *grin* Again, it's "disturbingly" fun!

Whoo hoo! I picked up the "One Skein" book today at work!

It's soooo amazing! I already made a yarn list for Friday. I have so many projects to start on, I can't wait.

Today is a good day (after work, that is). When I got home, I checked the mail and guess what arrived. My iPod Nano case from iFrogz! Yay! It looks just like the picture on the site. The little fishbowl is so damn cute.

Ok ok... [Mar. 26th, 2006|07:24 am]
[Mood today | Work... ugghh!]

So I got desperate and bought new needles and more yarn. I saw this hat and I just have to make it!

It's sooooo cute! :( Anyways... After I conquer that hat I'm gonna try and make the pattern for this scarf I saw.

It was on Knitta Please. I love the colors and the thick stripes. I gotta hunt down the perfect yarn to use. It looks like each stripe has 2 colors held together. But I could be wrong. It's cute!

I still have a little more packing to do today. *sigh* Can't wait till I move. It's gonna be so nice to be on my own again, plus living with Jason will be a blast. Two creative little minds at work, feeding off one another. *happy sigh* I'll be working on lots more artwork soon, and that makes me feel so much better. It's a big stress releiver from work. Ughh... Which I have to go to tomorrow. *grrrrrr* My days off just fly by.
